HOW TO VOLUNTEER AS A COACH

We urgently need head coaches. Without head coaches we don't have teams. Without teams we have to tell families their kids can't play. If you can’t be a head coach, consider being an assistant coach. As a coach you will motivate, congratulate, teach, encourage, drill, console, strategize, lead, and mentor a small group of kids, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience!

Even if you have no soccer experience, AYSO will teach you the principles of the game and how to coach young kids to have fun and learn soccer. You'll learn about the game and you'll likely love it so much you'll become a coach next year. Learn more here.

1) You can volunteer to coach when you register your child.

1) Click here to register. If asked, log in or create an account.

2) If you have registered a child you may not see this page. If you do see this page you will need to click “View Divisions” to the right of “2023 Fall Recreational - Belmont/Redwood Shores”.

Check the box next your child’s division. Just select one, even if you will coach multiple divisions. The web site will make you fill out a form for every division you check, and you only need to fill the form out once. And, then click “View Selected Opportunities”.

3) Check “Select” under “Head Coach” or “Assistant Coach” under the heading “2023 Fall Recreational - Belmont/Redwood Shores”.

4) Click on “Sign up <YOUR NAME>” and then “Continue >” at bottom right.

5) Complete the form.

Make sure to click View/Accept for the “Assumption of Risk” and the “COVID-19 Assumption of Risk”.

Make sure to fill out what size shirt/jersey you wear.

Don’t worry about Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, SafeSport, Fingerprinting, and Safe Haven for the moment. You’ll need to do these before the season starts, but you don’t need to do them to register.
