OVERVIEW
Most of Belmont-Redwood Shores AYSO’s activities are on local fields (see field directory below). To keep the fields in good shape, everyone is asked to follow some General Rules, including those noted below. A key part of the rules is to honor field closures indicated on the Field Hotline.
WEATHER POLICIES
To protect the grass fields, fields should not be used during rain, or when the fields are waterlogged. The City of Belmont determines grass field closures Monday through Friday. Please check the Belmont Field Hotline at (650) 592-7557. The hotline is updated after 3pm. You can also check our Facebook page for weekend field determinations.
For game days, field closures are determined by the Regional Commissioner and communicated through coaches. If you are unsure, you are advised to show up to your scheduled game time.
Generally, turf fields are available unless determined to be unsafe for play.
PET POLICY
Here is Belmont's policy regarding pets in the spectator area or otherwise nearby AYSO soccer games:
AYSO’s first duty is to maintain a safe playing environment for our youth soccer games. AYSO Region 108 plays on City of Belmont fields and City of Belmont schools. While the City of Belmont permits dogs in these public areas as long as they are properly controlled with a leash, during AYSO practices and games, dogs are not permitted on the fields.
Click here for more information on AYSO's policy regarding pets on the field.
GOAL SAFETY
The City of Belmont demands we follow the following steps to ensure safety for all of our kids.
These steps must be followed for all of the fields we use.
Simple Rules:
• Wheels up, unless the goals are actively being moved
• Wheels should never be down unless you are rolling the goals
• Goals stored mouth to mouth
• Locked on both sides where the goal posts meet
• Sandbags on the back bars (always at BSC and when in use at Nesbit and other fields).
